An official club since August 2001, the Dirty Girlz Bike Club is an incorporated society operating out of Victoria, BC.

The Dirty Girlz Bike Club provides a fun, social and supportive environment for women mountain bikers of all ages, abilities and riding styles within the Greater Victoria and southern Vancouver Island area.

We celebrate mountain biking through volunteer led group rides, bike maintenance clinics, organized riding trips and other social events. We are active in the community, promoting women in the sport and supporting trail advocacy initiatives.

We are affiliated with IMBA Canada and the South Island Mountain Biking Society (SIMBS).

OUR VALUES

At Dirty Girlz Bike Club, everything we do is guided by a simple belief: mountain biking and cycling should be for every woman, at every level. These values shape how we ride, how we grow, and how we support each other along the way.
COMMUNITY FIRST

We ride better together. Dirty Girlz Bike Club is built on connection, support, and showing up for each other, on and off the trail.

PROGRESSION

Every rider's journey looks different. We create space to build skills and confidence without judgment, wherever you're starting from.

INCLUSION

All riding styles, backgrounds, and experience levels are welcome here. Diversity makes our community stronger.

GIVING BACK

We ride because of the trails we love — and we support the people and organizations who maintain them (like SIMBS).

MEET THE TEAM

Rachael Ince - President

Rachael has been mountain biking on and off since 2000 in the UK. Moving to Victoria in 2022, access to the amazing local trails reignited her stoke for biking. The Dirty Girlz was instrumental in connecting her with a community of awesome women in Victoria.

MEET THE TEAM

Mélissa Burns - Vice President

Mélissa began riding in 2023. She was looking for new ways to challenge herself. The forest is her happy place, so it didn’t take long for her to become addicted to the sport. You can hear her familiar ‘Pew Pew’!! when she rides, especially when done climbing. Mélissa enjoys cheering on others, celebrating wins (big or small), and creating a safe and fun environment for woman to enjoy mountain biking.

Mafalda Di lorio - Treasurer

A lifelong Mountain Biker wannabe, Mafalda finally took up the sport when a soccer teammate took her on her first ride at The Dump in 2019 and hasn’t looked back. She credits the Dirty Girlz for helping her improve her confidence and technical skills. “I’ve made so many friends and love riding with such a diverse group of women.”

Sika Patton - Secretary

Sika has been riding since 2021 and loving every minute of it, even when she complains on the climbs. Riding with Dirty Girlz has been a life-changing experience because they pack so much fun and adventure into every ride!

Stacey Hooson - Director

You might hear Stacey, aka the Wizard, before you see her – she can be loud! Stacey got into mountain biking in 2004, when her then 9-year-old son excitedly stated “Mom you have to try this!” after taking a summer mountain biking camp. She tried it, loved it, and is still riding — albeit slower, thanks to some extra “padding”. Stacey loves the free mud facials during rainy season, socializing with the ladies and having a good time.

Melissa Jung - Director

Melissa started getting into mountain biking shortly after moving to Vancouver Island. After meeting an awesome group of women through the Dirty Girlz, her weekends consist of finding new trails, features and adventures in the local surrounding areas. She loves a good rock roll and is constantly learning new skills from the strong women in this community.

Erin Bremner-Mitchell - Director

Mountain biking and membership in the club began in 2023, but it didn’t take long for Erin to realize she had found something special. Time on the trails offers a chance to leave the responsibilities of everyday life in the parking lot and simply reconnect with herself. The physical and mental benefits keep her coming back, but it’s the friendships, the laughter, and the sense of belonging that come from being part of such a welcoming community that make the club truly meaningful.

Ching Ho - Director

Ching dabbled in mountain biking every now and then for a few years before finding the Dirty Girlz in 2025. What started as a casual hobby quickly turned into a regular obsession. The community has pushed her skills further than she expected and introduced her to some genuinely great people along the way.

Ride Hosts

Our ride hosts are the heart of Dirty Girlz. These volunteers show up week after week to lead rides, rally the group, and take us all on adventures we'd never find on our own. They create a ride route, watch out for the group, and make sure everyone — from first-timers to seasoned shredders — has a rider to look to and a place to belong.

We simply wouldn't exist without them. Interested in becoming a ride host? Check out our FAQ.

OUR SPONSORS

DGz exists because local businesses believe in what we're building — a community of women riders supporting each other on the trails. Their generosity funds our rides, our clinics, our events, and everything in between. Every dollar, every donation, every partnership makes a real difference.
